Welsh Baccalaureate - Foundation to Advance

Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification (WBQ)

The Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification

Pembrokeshire College was the first institution in the county to offer the Welsh Baccalaureate. This qualification provides students with a broad range of skills and experiences, designed to equip them for the world of work in the twenty-first century, whilst aiming to give parity of esteem between academic and vocational courses.

The Welsh Bac can be linked to courses at three different levels - Foundation (still in pilot), Intermediate and Advanced. The qualification is becoming increasingly recognised by both universities and employers as a broadening and enriching educational experience. Pembrokeshire College currently offers the Welsh Bac as a compulsory element with designated courses running at all three levels.

The qualification is completed alongside a full-time course.
