What you could do after this course

This course provides a sound basis for progression to Level 3 courses such as Access to Higher Education, BTEC National Diploma and A Levels.


Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but a commitment to study and a mature approach are considered important criteria for admittance to the programme.


What you will learn

The course is designed to introduce students to college and study. It consists of four units covering:

  • The development of personal confidence and self-awareness
  • Developing and using research skills
  • Using e-mail and the internet
  • Building a personal career portfolio
  • Course Assessment

A variety of assessment methods will be used chosen mostly from the following:


  • Group Discussion Records
  • Oral Question and Answer
  • Portfolio Building
  • Project
  • Reflective journal
  • Written Description
