This is a course for anyone wishing to pursue a career in stage management, acting, production, media, or the arts.

Next steps: 

Successful completion of this course allows students to progress to higher education (HND, degree), or to join a drama school.

Entry requirements: 
Five GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
First Diploma at merit plus 1 GCSE at Grade C or above or essential skills Level 2
Mature applicants - Each application considered on individual merit
Entry is normally subject to interview
What you will learn: 

 Broad based programme which looks at core aspects of drama, technical theatre, singing and voice.

Core units include:

  • Rehearsal & performance
  • Historical context of performance
  • Performance workshop
  • Musical Theatre performance
  • Performing Arts business

Additional units include:

  • Singing skills & developing voice
  • Developing movement
  • Acting auditions
  • Live sound & lighting
  • Stage management (DSM)
  • Drama improvisation

The emphasis on public performance means there is a requirement for attendance on some evenings and weekends.
