As part of this course learners will be running the Community Café based in the Paul Sartori charity shop in Haverfordwest. During the course learners will gain many transferable skills to prepare them to work in a customer facing role across a number of different sectors.
As part of the course you will be responsible for taking customer orders, preparing food, maintaining food safety standards, cash handling and maintaining the cleanliness of the premises.
Learners will also be asked to put on promotional events in the café. Events by previous learners have included: Mother’s Day promotion, afternoon Christmas tea with choir and Victorian theme, children’s workshops – including recycling and craft, craft workshops in conjunction with SET stationers, and a vintage retro stall set up at Pembrokeshire College encouraging individual entrepreneurship. We are keen for learners to develop new ideas within the Community Cafe.
This is a rolling programme based at the Paul Sartori Building in Bridge Street, Haverfordwest. The course runs from Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 2.30pm.
