Engineering is an exciting industry with lots of opportunities to progress and succeed. There are currently 5.7 million people working in the engineering industry in the UK.
This is a hybrid course combining both craft and academic study. Completed over one year you will study the Level 2 in EAL Engineering (which is a craft route consisting of intense practical sessions in fitting, machining and welding in our industry standard facilities) and the BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Engineering (which is an academic route equivalent to 1.5 A-levels at grade A-C). This is an intensive course that will prepare you for the challenges of an engineering environment.
The Enhanced Diploma has been developed in response to employer demand. Containing five weeks of work experience with local companies, this programme is ideal for those looking to progress to an apprenticeship or directly into employment. It also provides an opportunity to study the Extended Diploma Level 3 in Engineering that will allow you to progress to university to study an engineering related discipline such as a BEng or BSc or to go onto an apprenticeship at advanced level leading to a higher apprenticeship in a supervisory capacity.
