Introductory Award in First Line Management is for careers in production/service or office administration environment within the public or private sector.
Leadership and Management
This is a relevant and challenging introductory course for the aspiring or practicing first line manager. It will enhance current knowledge and skills, equip candidates to fulfil the requirements of a demanding role and make them more effective in their workplace and help prepare them for promotional opportunities.
Students will study the modules below but will also be taught about other areas of management including:
- change management
- motivating the workforce
- team building
- dealing with conflict
- managing performance
- problem solving
- decision making techniques that will enable them to contribute to effective decision making

The assessment includes 4 written assignments which are workbased and reflective in nature. You will be asked to apply the learning gained on the course to situations within your own work place or given scenarios.
Opportunities to progress to the ILM Certificate in First Line Management then Diploma in Supervisory Management.
Practising or potential team leaders/supervisory managers. Candidates should possess a background which will enable them to benefit from the programme.
