Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO)


The Prosper Project

Focused on small to medium enterprises (SMEs) that have less than 250 employees. Its main aim is to encourage entrepreneurship and to provide a professional business support service which enables qualifying businesses to benefit from our skills, knowledge and resources free of charge. Services are provided on a no-fee basis due to funding from the European Social Fund.


RETEC

This project will provide a variety of flexible training schemes for employees of the oil and gas service sector and those wishing to work in the industry, to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of this sector. Through the potential business diversification SMEs may also be able to broaden their client base and reduce their dependency on refineries for work.



Strategy for Innovation

This project is to build the capacity, and support the development of, FEIs and HEIs to meet the training and consultancy needs of SMEs for science, technology or innovation related training at NVQ Levels 3-5.


Strategy for Entrepreneurship

This project is to support the development of an enterprise curriculum for students in FEIs and HEIs and to encourage entrepreneurship through the award of Enterprise Scholarships.


Galileo Project

This project is to facilitate a collaborative approach between Pembrokeshire College and Ledwood Mechanical Engineering to develop a cutting edge radar system and an innovative offshore floating platform that will utilise radar technology.


Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs)

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships enable staff in further education colleges teaching at NVQ Level 4 to apply their expertise to important business problems. For more information, click on www.ktponline.org.uk
