Marine Engineering

Our marine engineering workshop is well equipped with engines from 3 kW to 1100 kW, including common rail Diesels and modern outboards. We offer the City & Guilds 2451 (Marine Engineering) and the BTEC National Diploma in Marine Engineering. The City & Guilds course provides an excellent foundation to the exciting and rapidly developing field of marine engineering. Learn everything from the routine servicing of marine engines and propulsion systems to diagnostics and faultfinding, vessel systems, engineering benchwork (metalwork) and welding. The National Diploma in Marine Engineering is an alternative to AS and A levels at level 3. Students may then go on to study further at a maritime college (subject to qualifications) and begin a career at sea as a bridge or engineering officer. Course duration: two years.
