Three Pembrokeshire College professional catering students are back from working at the Fitzwilliam Hotel - one of Dublin's most luxurious hotels - during the Ryder Cup to help provide hospitality made famous by the Irish.

"We needed extra help in the kitchens during the Ryder Cup to be able to meet the very high standards that our customers expect," said Maureen Carroll from the five-star hotel. An ex-Pembrokeshire College student, Daryl Bradryck, already works with us as a commis chef so it seemed logical to use our connections to find young people with similar skills."

The students flew out from Bristol Airport with their tutor and made their way to the heart of Dublin City Centre where the Sir Terence Conran designed hotel is located.

"The hotel is superb," commented tutor Phil Corp, "It has been meticulously designed and has a Michelin Star restaurant, so the students certainly had a valuable and memorable work experience."

The three students made their way back to college at the end of the week to complete the second year of their level two professional catering qualification including preparing food for the academy restaurant.
