Pembrokeshire College Approved as an Intermediary for Government’s £2bn Kickstart Scheme

An approved intermediary for the Government’s £2bn KickStart programme aimed at helping young people back into employment, Pembrokeshire College is urging businesses across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion to get in touch.

Announced by Chancellor Rishi Sunak as part of his Plan for Jobs, the new scheme will see companies being able to sign-up to offer six-month job placements to young people aged 16-24 who are claiming Universal Credit. The government funded scheme will cover the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours per week plus National Insurance contributions and employer automatic enrolment contributions.

The scheme allows companies offering 30 or more placements to apply directly while those with fewer placements can make contact with Pembrokeshire College who will act as your local representative grouping together smaller employers. The College will check that your business is eligible for the funding before submitting the application on your behalf.

Employers can find out more about the scheme on the Government Website or by contacting Pembrokeshire College’s Employment Bureau: recruit@pembrokeshire.ac.uk or 01437 753 463.
