A Pembrokeshire College Carpentry student has been presented with a set of specialist tools worth £400 from Dyfed Training Group (DTG).
Level 3 CITB apprenticeship student, Chris Caine is sponsored by DTG and was recently crowned Welsh National winner for Joinery and was also awarded a Silver medal at the UK National Final. Having won the Carpentry Skills Competition Wales last year, he has since been awarded a golden ticket to participate in the Skills Show competition later this year and, if successful, will secure a place to represent the UK in the WorldSkills competition in Russia in 2019.
Chris was delighted to receive a set of Lie-Nielsen Toolworks which included a block plane, a shoulder plane and a spoke shave, “I can’t wait to use the tools given to me by DTG, they’re the best of the best!”
The Dyfed Training Group are an organisation formed of more than 40 construction companies and related organisations who work together to support apprenticeships, work placements and provide a high standard of training.
