Is this course right for me?
This course is designed for qualified and experienced electricians who are seeking to enhance their skills and knowledge to allow them to install domestic, commercial and “on street” vehicle charging points. Giving an understanding of the application of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation. It allows individuals working in the electrotechnical sector to develop their understanding of the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging points.
Candidates must have a full working knowledge of the UK earthing systems and be competent at cable calculations, calculating earth fault loop impedances and adiabatic equations. These competencies are required for the assessment but are not taught as part of the course.
Practically, candidates must be able to install and terminate SWA (steel wire armoured) cable and carry out an Initial Verification on an electrical installation and complete all the associated paperwork.
Candidates must also have an excellent knowledge of GN3 and BS7671. Many of the exam questions will test your knowledge of these publications from memory, so it is vital that you are suitably prepared for this course.

- You will need to provide proof of the following Level 3 qualifications: Inspection and Testing (EAL 4337 and 4338 or City and Guilds 2391) and 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations or your JIB GOLD Card
