Is this course right for me?

This six week course is aimed at providing learners with the knowledge, understanding and competency to offer advice to individuals on nutrition for healthy living. It covers essential topics such as the significance of food groups, digestion, and fundamental principles of weight management.

  • No formal entry requirements

Learners will cover:

  • Structure and function of the digestive system
  • The glycemic index
  • The role of cholesterol, macro nutrients and micro nutrients
  • Guidelines for a healthy, balanced diet
  • Obesity and weight management

Units to be studied include:

  • Diet and nutrition for healthy living
  • Food groups and digestion

  • Portfolio of evidence

Learners achieving this qualification may want to progress onto a Fitness Instructing course.
