Is this course right for me?
This hands-on course combines desirable IT skills with exciting and equally desirable practical activities. Discover and develop handy future skills like problem solving, communication and IT through a range of varied tasks such as website building, welding, game design, spreadsheet basics, basic car maintenance, project work, robotics and animation.
This course offers a taste of various career paths; allowing learners to explore new skills and interests that will better prepare them for the future. In engaging in diverse activities learners will gain insight into different fields, helping to discover exactly what career to pursue. Join us on this journey of exploration and creativity, and set the foundation for a future career or further studies in technology.
This course normally runs 3.5 days per week, for 28 weeks, starting in November.
What are the entry requirements?
- Two GCSEs at grade G or above (may include one relevant equivalent) to include English Language/English Literature/First Language Welsh and Mathematics/Numeracy
- You should be physically capable of completing the practical elements of this course
- Each application is considered on individual merit

If you are studying a construction/trade course (brickwork, carpentry, electrical or plumbing):
- Essential Skills Wales (ESW) in Application of Number and Communications
All other courses:
- Wales Essential Skills Toolkit (WEST) in upskilling / Lessons in Financial Education
- A one year GCSE resit course in required subject/s
- A one or two year pre-GCSE upskilling course
- A one year GCSE START upskilling course
