Pembrokeshire College art students excel in the Creative Industry Sector. Former Pembrokeshire College student, Ellice Williams, studied a graphic design and foundation course before attending Kingston University, where she completed a degree in design. Ellice discovered her flair for Design after securing a work placement at M&C Saatchi in London; she is currently working as an Account Executive at Golley Slater. Golley Slater is a national full-service marketing agency, specialising in disciplines from Advertising to PR to Social Media. Recently, Ellice represented the agency in an inspirational talk and tour to a group of Interactive Media students. She was able to provide the Pembrokeshire College students with a personal insight into the many possibilities their current educational pathway could lead them to.
The trip to the Cardiff based agency received high praise from the students and it’s no surprise that the tutors are eager to book another tour for next year. Like Ellis, the College has produced a number of high performing students who have excelled in the field. Most recently, Ben Dazely, an Interactive Media student, won a Welsh Multi – Media Competition, with his film on Road Safety for the Dyfed Powys Police area.
Each of the departments at the College encourage their students to get involved with as many competitions as possible. The Interactive Media students do well year after year; many were highly commended on their entries for the Learner Voice competition, lat year. Furthermore, students from Pembrokeshire College have won the All – Wales Multimedia Competition for the second year running.
