We are delighted to announce Pembrokeshire College has made it to the Green Gown Award shortlist 2011. In the categories of Social Responsibility and Space Efficiency.
240 entries were received across the 13 categories and a judging panel comprising further and higher education sector luminaries was called upon to make some very difficult decisions. The standard of entries this year was truly exceptional and underlines how many excellent initiatives are being undertaken by universities and colleges across the UK to become more sustainable.
‘With a 20% increase in the number of applications to the 2011 Green Gown Awards, the health of the Awards and sustainability in further and higher education is clear. Sustainability is not going away. Instead it is steadily advancing throughout all aspects of further and higher education with the potential to transform and position UK universities and colleges as leaders of social, economic and environmental responsibility. That’s just where it should be.’ Iain Patton, CEO, EAUC
