Delivered under the prestigious awarding body University Arts London, our Level 3 Extended Diplomas will give you the same UCAS entry points as 3 A-levels.

The Extended Diploma consists of projects such as:

• 2D and 3D animation
• Documentary and narrative film making
• Video and Audio editing
• Podcast production
• Principles and applications of social media
• Website and app design
• Concept and 3D visualisation for animation, gaming and film

During the course you will develop:

• Knowledge of the fundamental concepts of the design process
• Computer software skills
• An understanding of the theoretical aspects and practical applications of animation and film making
• Visual communication skills through mediums such as photography, moving image, digital drawing and motion graphics

Expect also to:

• Participate in live brief projects and competitions
• Create digital journals recording and reflecting on the development of your work
• Develop creative ideas
• Write critical appraisals of your own and others creative practice
• Study historical and contemporary design to inform your own practice
• Connect with employers through creative activities and visits

As part of this course you will learn through practical demonstrations and lectures as well as work-based assignments and research projects.

During the second year learners study the WJEC Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) – graded like an AS level it can provide additional UCAS points.

On successful completion of this course most learners apply to university to study a wide range of degree level programmes related to the creative arts. Alternatively, you will have acquired the skills needed to seek employment at a junior level in a related field.
