Over two years, students will study the new WJEC/City & Guilds Level 3 Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development programme (equivalent to 2 A-levels). Alongside this programme, students will also study the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate (WBQ) qualification which will support progression to University/Higher Education.
The WJEC/City & Guilds Level 3 Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development programme will allow learners to develop the knowledge and skills required for employment and/or career progression in childcare or health settings. It has been developed for those working in, or intending to work in regulated childcare settings with families and children under the age of 8 and/or NHS children’s services for those working with families and children 0-19. This includes child health settings.
The qualification combines theoretical knowledge with the practical skills needed to work within the sector. As part of this course, you will undertake over 100 days (700 hours) of work placement as well as Paediatric First Aid, Food safety and Welsh.
