These are new qualifications developed for individuals working in, or intending to work in childcare.
The qualifications are: Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development Core and Theory.
The qualifications will combine theoretical knowledge with the practical skills needed to work within the sector. They are aimed at post-16 learners in Wales, working or seeking to work, in regulated childcare settings with families and children under the age of 8 and/or NHS children’s services for those working with families and children 0-19. This includes child health settings.
As part of this course, you will undertake over 280 hours of work placement as well as Paediatric First Aid, Food Safety and Welsh.
Future Career Opportunities:
Completion of this course will allow learners to work as a qualified level 2 childcare worker in a supervised capacity in a variety of roles including: Assistant Play Worker, Childminder, Nursery Assistant, Classroom Assistant, Out of School Care Worker, Learning Support Assistant, Special Needs Assistant.
