The Level 5 Diploma has been developed specifically for learners who, as experienced playworkers, are developing, leading and reviewing permanent or temporary play provision within a changing environment. This qualification has been designed to assess the knowledge and skills necessary to develop, lead and review play provision. Set within an analytical and reflective construct, the learner must understand and apply the Playwork principles in order to develop and implement an organisational framework for children and young people’s play.
The level 5 Diploma (Advanced Practice) is for learners responsible for: play sufficiency assessment and fulfilment; oversee county wide provision, seek funding for city and regional projects, identify, access and deliver training. Work with children; engage with communities and partners. Promote children’s right to play across adult agendas.
The Level 5 Diploma (Management) is for learners who hold responsibility for: staff management, budgets, training, induction, inspections, policies, supervision, local funding applications, strategy development, health and safety. May directly work with children and oversee playwork provision.
