COURSE AIM:
This qualification is a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ). It involves the skills and knowledge needed for occupations in marine engineering, the ability to organise work and identify and prevent problems. NVQs are based on national occupational standards, which the learner must meet to be competent in a particular task. The achievement of NVQs will encourage an employee to value their contribution to the workplace, and it will develop their skills and potential within the marine engineering field.

PROGRESSION:
NVQ Port Operations Level 3, Employment, Higher Education.
COURSE CONTENT:
The NVQ is made up of mandatory and optional units to allow learners to tailor the qualification to suit their job role and experience. There are a large variety of different pathways and optional units within this qualification so please give us a call to discuss further.

- Interpreting Documentation & Legislation
COURSE ASSESSMENT / EXAMINATION:
The qualification is assessed by:
- portfolio of assessment
- verbal/written questioning
- witness testimony
- assessor observations
Candidates must be in full time relevant employment and be able to demonstrate a level of knowledge to a required standard.

- Subsidies are available to eligible employed learners
