This is an excellent qualification for students who want the flexibility of a part-time course and is suitable for people who are currently or hoping to start a career within the beauty industry.

Is this course right for me?

During this 20 week course you will consult and communicate with your client, analyse their nails and skin, make clear recommendations with a detailed treatment plan and prepare and apply the nail enhancement.

Throughout this qualification you will need to maintain effective health, safety and hygiene for yourself and your client. Your personal appearance must be kept at the highest standard and good communication with the client is required at all times.

If the learner has already achieved Level 2 manicure, they will only need to complete the nail technology element. The price will be discounted by 50% if only completing nail technology.

This course normally runs one day per week, for 20 weeks, starting in September.

  • If under 19, relevant Level 1 or two GCSEs at grade D or above (may include one relevant equivalent) to include English Language/First Language Welsh
  • Good personal presentation and communication skills are required
  • Each application is considered on individual merit

You will learn how to file nails, carry out cuticle work, treat skin and cuticle conditions, and maintain and repair the nail enhancement (including gel nails) and how to remove them safely.

Units to be studied include:

  • Follow Health and Safety Practice in the Salon
  • Provide Manicure Treatment
  • Provide and Maintain Nail Enhancements

Learners are able to complete either the full qualification or certain units or elements through the medium of Welsh/bilingually. Visit our Welsh Language in the College page to find out what else is available to you.
