Provide in-depth information about the role of the Level 3 Playworker when working with children and young people between the ages of 4 to 16. It allows learners to gain an understanding of the management of play environments and the line management of other staff.
Covers the knowledge and skills needed when working un-supervised and requires the learner to demonstrate these in the workplace. Aimed at experienced Playworkers who have a wide knowledge and understanding of children and young people and a deep appreciation of Playwork principles and practice.

COURSE CONTENT
To achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Playwork, learners must achieve a minimum of 65 credits:
- Mandatory (46 credits)
- Optional (19 credits)
COURSE ASSESSMENT / EXAMINATION:
All units are internally assessed. Assessment enables the learner’s workplace practice to provide evidence for individual units as well as the whole qualification. Methods of assessment could include:
- Direct Observation Within the Workplace
- A Portfolio of Evidence
- Professional Discussion
- Written Assignments or a Task Set
The qualification will be a pass or refer and all the assessment criteria of the chosen units must be achieved in order to obtain a pass.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but learners will need to be at least 16 years of age and working, volunteering or on a practical placement as they need to show competence in both knowledge and skills. They must have a clean Enhanced DBS check.
