Course delivery from Ocean Lab – Sea Trust, The Parrog, Goodwick SA64 0DE
Course dates – 22-24th June 2021 (Limited places available)
Course times: 9am-5:00pm (Please note this course may finish at a later time dependent on weather conditions)
The aim is to provide an introduction to wildlife guiding. It includes classroom training on preparation of subject material, logistics of group and event management, delivery of a guided event as well as feedback and reflection to allow revision and improvement of future delivery.
Students are encouraged to bring their own subject material with them but we can also provide material for students to work on. We will be using the local environment to illustrate the course. There is opportunity for island visits or boat work, which would incur an extra charge. These activities are subject to weather and availability, so will not be discussed until the course is underway.
The course is a nationally recognised level 3 qualification, so there will be assessments for the various learning outcomes. Please bring a laptop with power point software. Some of these will be completed as homework to be sent in after the course. Developed and delivered jointly by Pembrokeshire College Coastal and Marine Environment Research Unit and Sea Trust.
