Former Pembrokeshire College beauty student Sophie Aldred has taken the next steps into pursuing her dream career after securing employment at Ragdale Hall.

A multi-award-winning spa destination in the Leicestershire countryside, Ragdale Hall’s state-of-the-art facilities make it one of the most luxurious spas in the country. Housing 56 treatment rooms and employing 150 beauty spa staff, the complex offers high-end treatments for visiting guests.

Back in the summer, representatives from Ragdale came to Pembrokeshire College to carry out trade tests with the Level 3 Beauty students in the hope of finding talented beauty therapists who they could employ at Ragdale Hall at the end of their course.

Sophie achieved high scores in her screening and was offered a week’s work placement in the summer during which she performed exceptionally well. Following this placement, Sophie was offered a three-month probationary period which she is currently embarking on. If Sophie continues to meet Ragdale’s high standards she will be offered a two-year contract which will include training with the likes of Clarins and Elemis.

Sophie explained how much she is enjoying her time at the luxury spa, “Ragdale is such a beautiful and interesting place to work. I have already learnt so much in such a short space of time. Being on the Level 2 and 3 Beauty courses really gave me the foundations to working in the beauty industry. The staff at the College were very experienced and were so supportive. The courses are brilliant and really give you the skill set for the real world. One of the highlights of the job is meeting so many new people and learning about their backgrounds. Ragdale has really opened doors and kick started my career; opening up a world of opportunities for me.”

Sophie’s former lecturer, Michelle Jennings expressed how proud she was of Sophie, “I was delighted when Sophie was selected to work at Ragdale Hall. Sophie’s hard work and determination meant that she stood out during the interview process. It goes to show that when you give something your all it can open many doors for your future.”

Sophie is now brushing up on all her skills and knowledge in hopes of securing full-time employment with Ragdale.
