Destination Apprenticeships is coming to Pembrokeshire College. If you have played with the idea of becoming an apprentice, but are a little unsure as how to go about it, then this event is just what you’ve been looking for.
Destination Apprenticeships, will be held on Wednesday 8th March between 4pm and 6pm at Pembrokeshire College. The event offers the opportunity to speak to various local employers, including the Retreats Group, Welsh Water, and Capestone Organic, all of whom have genuine apprenticeship opportunities. Following the information event, guest speaker Joseph Valente, winner of The Apprentice 2015, and Lord Sugar’s business partner, will join staff to celebrate the success of local apprentices and lead a question and answer session in the Merlin Theatre. The evening will close with entertainment from local singer/songwriter Jodie Marie.
The public perception of apprenticeships, as an alternative to university, is growing significantly as is the demand from industry for skilled workers. With Welsh Government plans to create at least 100,000 apprenticeships in Wales before the next election through increasing investment from £96m to £111.5m for 2017-18, there has never been a better time to become an apprentice.
A new generation of apprenticeships means that you are no longer limited to the traditional vocational pathways and can now also choose apprenticeships in professional routes such as accountancy or law. So what are waiting for – Destination Apprenticeships, Wednesday 8th March, 4pm-6pm, followed by an apprenticeship celebration in the Merlin Theatre, 6.30pm-7.30pm.
