As you are required to complete work experience as part of your college course, you will need a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check through the college.
Students on the following courses require a DBS check:
- All Childcare Students
- Health and Social Care students
If you’re planning to study one of the above courses, it’s really important that you bring in your evidence and make payment before your course begins in September.
If you doing a different course but have secured work placement with an employer who requires you to have a DBS (for example, you might complete work experience at a school as an IT engineer), you should pay for your DBS check here when advised to do so by the work placement team.
What happens next?
You will need to provide evidence to submit your application. The work placement team will need to see your evidence and will inform you how to complete the DBS process – here are details of what evidence is required. You should prepare this evidence ready for the team via appointment or as soon as your course starts in September.
