What you will learn
The aims of the Module are to:
- Explore the main principles of the learning process
- Examine the range of learning theories that shape this process
- Examine the role of a practitioner in supporting learners within the workplace
A main concern when developing this module has been to ensure that the theoretical content is appropriately integrated with your professional practice. This integration is aided by the design of the module which respects the individual's ability to identify his/her developmental needs.
Integration will be achieved by:
- Learning outcomes that are applicable to both theoretical and practice settings
- Reviews of clinical experience discussed and debated during contact time
- Reflection and application of the issues raised during the module within the reflective journal
Tutorials are offered on a regular basis throughout the course.
How you will be assessed
A written assignment of 4,000 words and the completion of clinical learning outcomes.
Additional Qualifications
The module is designed as part of the Diploma in Professional Practice award. 40 CAT points at Level 2 (Diploma Module).
