Inspiring the workforce of tomorrow
Pembrokeshire College’s Central Training team attended an employment fair at Pembroke Dock’s Business Innovation Centre on 8th March to inspire the young women of Pembrokeshire to Think Big!
Girls between the ages of 10 and 16 engaged in workshops, attended inspirational talks and met with representatives from a wide range of organisations to gather information about their future career choices. Groups were able to meet with current apprentices and get more information about career opportunities and the companies that operate in the local area.
Hosted by Bouygues, the focus of the event was careers in the Construction and Engineering sectors. There was plenty of interest in the College’s new A-level extension and visitors were keen to hear about life at the College.
Central Training’s Customer Relations Advisor, Rosie Williams enjoyed the event, “It was rewarding to talk to girls who hadn’t given much thought to life post-GCSEs. Some of them had never heard of an apprenticeship or work-based learning programme so it was great to give them food for thought”.
Come along to Pembrokeshire College’s Open Evening on 26th April 2017 to find out where your learning journey could take you.
