Pembrokeshire College Employability Co-ordinator for the Life Skills Academy, David Jones, has won the Skills Competition Diversity Champion Award at the 2024 WorldSkills UK Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Heroes Awards. The winners were announced at a prestigious ceremony held at the Houses of Parliament, London on 7 March.
The WorldSkills UK EDI Heroes Awards, supported by the Skills and Education Group and UVAC, recognise the extraordinary accomplishments of individuals and organisations who champion diversity and inclusion in the technical education sector.
David was selected for the award due to the work he does on a daily basis to encourage and inspire his learners to remove barriers and achieve their full potential by competing in Skills Competition Wales and WorldSkills UK competitions.
