Is this course right for me?
This 8 week course is an entry point for learners who need to develop their finance or business skills. Designed to give learners the introductory knowledge and confidence to take on a higher level Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification and to progress in their lives and careers.

- Each application is considered on individual merit
Upon completion of this course learners should:
- Know how to complete financial documents
- Be able to record cash and credit transactions in books of original entry
- Be able to prepare bank reconciliation
- Be able to extract a trial balance from the ledger accounts
Units to be studied will include:
- The purpose and content of financial documents
- Complete financial documents
- Enter invoices and credit notes in day books
- Transfer totals into ledger book
- Post individual transactions into ledger book
- Record cash book transactions and credit transactions using double entry bookkeeping
- Prepare bank reconciliation statement using appropriate information
- Balance ledger accounts
- Extract the trial balance from the ledger book and cash book
Learners are able to complete either the full qualification or certain units or elements through the medium of Welsh/bilingually. Visit our Welsh Language in the College page to find out what else is available to you.

Successful students can progress to the Associated Accounting Technician Programme (AAT Level 2)
