Pembrokeshire College Music Performance and Production students recently visited London for the BBC Music Introducing LIVE festival at Tobacco Dock. The event was a mix of workshops, masterclasses, clinics, and performances designed to support up and coming young artists and musicians.
The students attended talks such as Getting Your Music on the Radio, How to Get a Job in the Music Business, Danny Howard in Conversation with Deadmau5 and Zoe Ball in Conversation with Glastonbury Festival’s, plus many more.
Broadcasting live from the event students were able to watch shows being presented from inside the studios. Furthermore, the students experienced live music from Ben Howard, Marika Hackman, Rews, The Sherlocks, Dylan Cartlidge and countless new artists who were playing on a variety of stages around the venue.
Tim Lambett, Music Lecturer at the College joined the students on their short trip; “The trip was inspirational, eye opening and gave a fantastic insight on how to get started in the music business and what multifarious career opportunities are out there. Just work hard, be persistent and be different!”
Students returned feeling inspired about the opportunities available along with a greater awareness of the types of careers are on offer.
