Making the transition from home education to college can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to do it alone. Pembrokeshire College is here to support home educated learners and their families.
On Wednesday 27 May, 11:00 to 14:00, we are hosting a Electively Home Educated Learners Event for learners and their parents or carers. The event will include a short presentation followed by the opportunity to ask questions and speak directly with our support teams.
This event is aimed at home educated learners who will be 16 years old before September 2026 and are considering studying at Pembrokeshire College, as well as those who may wish to study with us in the future once they turn 16.
Attending this event will help you to:
- Ease the transition from home education to a structured college environment
- Reduce anxiety by exploring classrooms, libraries and other facilities
- Gain insight into the courses available at Pembrokeshire College
- Ask questions about subject choices, qualifications and career pathways
- Connect with current and other prospective learners
- Encourage social interaction, particularly for learners moving from independent study
- Learn about additional support available, including learning support, mental health services and careers guidance
