FAQ

Can I apply on the evening?

Yes. Laptops will be available for you to submit an online application, and members of our Admissions team will be on hand to guide you through the process.

Can Year 9 and Year 10 pupils attend?

Yes. Our Open Evenings are a great opportunity for younger pupils to explore future careers, discover different courses and find out what grades they may need to achieve their goals.

Do parents, carers and family members need to register?

No. Registration is only required for the prospective students. Parents, carers and family members are welcome to attend with them.

I'm nervous about attending. What support is available?

Our Open Evenings can be busy and sometimes feel overwhelming. If you would prefer a quieter visit, we can arrange a private tour on another day to help you become familiar with the College and its layout. Alternatively, our January and April events are typically less busy.

I'm not sure which course I want to study. Can you help?

Absolutely. Visiting an Open Evening is a great way to explore your options and discover new opportunities. Our College guidance staff and Careers Wales advisers will also be available to offer advice and support.

Is the College accessible?

Yes. We have level access from all car parks and lifts throughout the College, providing access to all floors.

Will I be able to find out about support and finance?

Yes. Members of our Student Support and Student Finance teams will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Will I be able to view the College facilities?

At all of our Open Evenings, except our April event, you will be able to explore our facilities, including classrooms, workshops, kitchens, salons and theatre spaces. Please note that some rooms may not be available due to other events, external bookings or evening classes.

Will refreshments be available?

Free tea and coffee will be available in our food hall. Starbucks will also be open if you would like to purchase additional refreshments.

Will tutors be available to talk to?

Yes. Course tutors and department managers will be available throughout the evening to answer your questions.
