Nia is going to study medicine at the University of Bristol and Mia will study medicine at the University of Southampton.

Other student university destinations this year include: Loughborough, Warwick, Bristol, Exeter, and UCL.

The College also saw BTEC National Diploma students excelling with many students achieving Distinction grades and taking up places at universities across the UK to study a range of subjects including Bioveterinary Science, Quantity Surveying, Law, Interior Architecture, Filmmaking and Linguistics.

After receiving this year’s A-level results, College Principal Dr Barry Walters commented: “Given the backdrop against which learners sat their exams this year, we are delighted with their results at both A2 and AS. This is the first time in their education that they have sat external exams and the anxiety levels were understandably high. We are incredibly proud of our learners who have worked extremely hard to achieve these grades with the support of a committed team of teaching and support staff.

“A significant number of our A-level and vocational learners are now progressing to universities across the UK, to study a vast array of programmes, we wish them all the best of luck and hope that they will keep in touch as they progress through their studies and into their future careers.”

Rhodri and Sian Phillips, parents of Cian who is heading to Cambridge, attended the results day and commented: “All three of our children came to Pembrokeshire College for their A-levels and both ourselves and our children (Rhys, Elin and Cian) knew it was the right decision for them. The staff were so friendly and were extremely passionate about the subjects they were teaching. All three of our children were very well supported throughout their studies especially during covid and staff were always on hand to offer help and advice whenever they needed it. Our children always say they particularly enjoyed being treated more as an adult and given a little independence where appropriate, making it the perfect stepping stone for university. They have made so many lifelong friends and there is a real feeling of community spirit.

“We are immensely proud of all three who went on to study Chemistry at Cardiff, Dentistry at Bristol and now Cian is off to study Engineering at Cambridge. We cannot thank the College enough for not only supporting our children but having a genuine compassion and belief in making their dreams come true.”
