Is this course right for me?
This qualification is designed for people looking to develop their knowledge and skills allowing them to safely carry out the removal and replacement of components on electric vehicle systems.
It is a compulsory requirement for Candidates to complete the Level 2 Award in Safe Maintenance of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles before undertaking this course.
- You will be expected to have successfully completed the previous level in this subject area or similar
- Learners must be at least 16 years old
This qualification covers the competence and knowledge to safely carry out the removal and replacement of components in isolated high voltage systems in an electric vehicle. High voltage systems include the powertrain and ancillary systems. This qualification also ensures that candidates are aware of the effect that high voltage component technology has on other vehicle systems.
Learners have the option to complete course assessment/assignments or elements of the course through the medium of Welsh or bilingually. Visit our Welsh Language in the College page to find out what else is available to you.

You can progress onto Level 4 Award in Diagnosis and Rectification of Faults in Electric and Hybrid Vehicles although Pembrokeshire College does not currently offer this.
You may wish to consider another of our part-time courses.
