Is this course right for me?

This is an introductory course for those with little or no experience of leadwork. It covers basic welding & bossing tasks. Both welding and bossing are two of the most common skills used today by lead-workers. Lead is most commonly used as a roofing and flashing material and has been used on traditional and heritage buildings for many years.

  • No formal entry requirements

This is not a certificated qualification but a college certificate will be issued on completion of the course.

This is a sheet lead fabrication course covering basic fabrication methods such as:

  • Butt welding
  • Lap welding
  • Cover patch
  • Fillet welding
  • Bossed half front apron
  • Half back gutter

Health & Safety will also form part of the course.

Learners are able to complete either the full qualification or certain units or elements through the medium of Welsh/bilingually. Visit our Welsh Language in the College page to find out what else is available to you.
