The Degree Apprenticeship programme is for those who are working in the industry and are on the path to a role in the construction management sector of the construction industry. You must be employed in a relevant role for this course.

You will study 1 day per week for 18 months at Pembrokeshire College with the remainder of the programme delivered at UWTSD

No tuition fees – fully funded by Welsh Government

This course normally runs one day per week, over 18 months, starting in September 2026 and ending in February 2028

Please note that the surveying module is run in addition to the main course in 8 full-day sessions, usually in the spring term. This means that learners will have to attend 2 day per week for 8 weeks.

Learners participating in courses provided by the college as a University of Wales Technical Institute receive an award validated by the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.

  • GCSEs at grade C or above to include English Language/First Language Welsh and Mathematics/Numeracy
  • 32 UCAS Tariff points from A-level or vocational qualification
  • Direct admission for applicants who have been out of full-time education for more than two years will be considered based on previous learning or experience
  • Each application is considered on individual merit
  • Entry may be subject to interview
If you have gained your qualifications outside of the UK we will use ECCTIS to check their equivalence to UK qualifications. Please upload proof of your qualifications as part of the application process.
  • Successful completion of relevant programme (including skills) and decision from progression board meeting
  • 32 UCAS Tariff points from A-level or vocational qualification

The course is designed to provide learners with the underpinning knowledge and understanding of the regulatory, technological, social, legal and economic context of construction management.

Modules to be studied include:

  • Digital Technology CAD
  • Fundamentals of construction technology
  • Health, safety and welfare in construction
  • Law for the built environment
  • Skills for professional practice
  • Building services – building comfort
  • Construction materials
  • Procurement process
  • Digital Technology
  • Digital surveying and highway design
  • Engineering and construction surveying

This course allows learners to combine work experience and academic study to gain the knowledge and skills employers really want.

Learners may have the option to complete course assessment/assignments or elements of the course through the medium of Welsh or bilingually. Visit our Welsh Language in the College page to find out what else is available to you.

Future career options include:

Construction project manager or management in the design and build sector or self-employment within the construction industry.

If you are not working in a relevant, you can apply for our HNC Construction Management course which mirrors the first 18 months of the degree course.
