Is this course right for me?
This Higher National Certificate (HNC) programme contains engineering units and offers a strong, sector-related emphasis on practical skills development alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding.
This course normally runs one day per week, over 2 years, starting in September.
The college is an associated body of the University of Wales and designated as a University of Wales Technical Institute (UWTI). It works in partnership with Pembrokeshire College, Coleg Sir Gâr, Coleg Ceredigion, Cardiff & Vale College and NPTC Group of Colleges to develop higher technical education and employer-led training and innovation. Working within a confederal structure, the network of Technical Institutes is informed by the needs of employers and aims to promote equality of opportunity and encourage participation in tertiary education.
Learners participating in courses provided by the college as a University of Wales Technical Institute receive an award validated by the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
What are the entry requirements?
- GCSEs at grade C or above to include English Language/First Language Welsh and Mathematics/Numeracy
- 48 UCAS Tariff points from A-level or vocational qualification
- Direct admission for applicants who have been out of full-time education for more than two years will be considered based on previous learning or experience
- Each application is considered on individual merit
- Entry may be subject to interview
