This course is tailored for those working in the electrotechnical industry and wishing to update their knowledge to the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition.

Designed for professionals in the electrotechnical sector, including electricians, designers, and inspectors, this three day course is intended for electricians seeking to update their knowledge of wiring regulations to align with current standards. Participants will gain a practical understanding of the latest edition of the British Standard BS 7671:2018 Amendment 2:2022, also known as the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Wiring Regulations 18th Edition.
Please note that this qualification meets a part of the requirements for the full Electrician’s qualification framework and as a ‘standalone’ qualification will not qualify an individual to work on electrical installations.
Candidates must hold a Level 2 Electrical Installations qualification and ideally also completed or be working towards Level 3.
Learners will require the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018 Amendment 2:2022 by The Institution of Engineering and Technology to be brought with them on the first day.

- You will need to provide proof of your Level 2 Electrical Installation qualification
- You will be expected to be in relevant job role
- Learners must be at least 16 years old
The qualification covers the full content of BS 7671: IET Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition, as amended. The Regulations apply to the design, erection and verification of electrical installations, and also additions and alterations to existing installations.
Learners are able to complete either the full qualification or certain units or elements through the medium of Welsh/bilingually. Visit our Welsh Language in the College page to find out what else is available to you.

Following successful completion of this course learners could look to progress to a higher level course at the College, seek an appropriate Apprenticeship or go directly into employment.
