Retrofit Advisors are crucial for guiding homeowners through the complex process of improving their homes’ energy efficiency, ensuring that upgrades are effective and meet necessary standards.

With the UK aiming for Net Zero by 2050, a surge in demand for these professionals is expected as more homes require retrofitting.

This qualification covers aspects key to a Retrofit Advisor – including sustainability and climate change. Learners will also study the science and process of Retrofit installation, which includes communication and health and safety aspects pertinent to a Retrofit Advisor.

Learners must be over the age of 16

This one year course is aimed at learners who are interested in becoming a Retrofit Advisor within the Construction industry. It is also aimed at upskilling existing employees within the Construction industry.

Units covered will include:

  • Climate Change, Sustainability and the Science of Retrofit.
  • Guidance for Retrofit Installations.
  • Communication for Retrofit Projects.
  • Health and Safety in Retrofit Projects.

Delivery for this course will be in college, one day per week for 24 weeks.

The Retrofit Advisor qualification supports progression for learners looking to progress further into the roles of Retrofit Assessor and Retrofit Coordinator. The skills developed through this qualification are also transferable into other construction areas.
