Is this course right for me?

This part-time programme is designed to support learners transitioning from our Life Skills Academy towards greater independence and adult life.

Delivered one day per week, focusing on developing practical independent living skills, confidence, and employability, helping learners prepare for their next steps beyond college. It provides a supportive and inclusive environment where learning is tailored to individual aspirations and outcomes, enabling learners to work towards greater independence, supported employment, volunteering opportunities, and active participation within their communities.

The course offers a flexible transition pathway, balancing ongoing support with increasing independence. Learners benefit from practical, real-world experiences through community-based activities and, where appropriate, opportunities to engage with supported employment and volunteering. Progress is reviewed regularly to ensure learners continue to develop key skills, confidence, and independence.

Particularly well suited to learners who are not yet ready to move directly into employment but would benefit from a structured stepping stone towards adult life. Learners are supported by experienced staff and have access to additional learning support where required, ensuring they can progress at a pace that meets their individual needs.
