Is this course right for me?
This one day online course is ideal for anyone working in the catering and hospitality industry (or those about to start work in the industry). Learners gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of food.
Please note the course is online and can be done at your leisure, but you will need to come into the College to sit the exam.

Topics covered are regarded by the Foods Standards Agency as being important to maintaining good practice in the production of safe food.
Learning outcomes include:
- Understand the importance of food handlers keeping themselves and work areas clean and hygienic
- Understand the importance of keeping food products safe
Learners have the option to complete course assessment/assignments or elements of the course through the medium of Welsh or bilingually. Visit our Welsh Language in the College page to find out what else is available to you.
- Written examination
On successful completion of this course you may want to do the Level 3 Food Safety course.
Following completion of this course you might want to try another one of our work-based courses.
