Over the course of eight weeks, this classroom-based Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) program will focus on updating current or aspiring team leaders, supervisors, and managers on management techniques and practices.
Led by two seasoned managers, the course will deliver up to date knowledge and practical advice on management strategies to ensure best performance of individuals and teams in the workplace. The instructional approach encourages participants to develop a reflective management style, considering not only organisational goals but also the well-being of both themselves and their teams.
- Good personal presentation and communication skills are required
- Each application is considered on individual merit
- Learners must be at least 16 years old
Units to be studied include:
- Solving problems and decision-making decisions
- Managing innovation and change in an organisation
- Managing workplace conflict
- Managing and supporting stress reduction in the workplace
Themes that will also be touched upon within this course are performance management, coaching and mentoring, health and wellbeing, health and safety, getting the best out of teams, team dynamics and most importantly effective communication strategies.
Learners will need a minimum of 4 credits to achieve the qualification.
Learners have the option to complete course assessment/assignments or elements of the course through the medium of Welsh or bilingually. Visit our Welsh Language in the College page to find out what else is available to you.

This qualification will provide progression opportunities to further ILM qualifications, including the Level 4 qualification.
