Is this course right for me?

This one day training and assessment is for anyone who in wishes to become an approved plumbers/contractors. Successful candidates are encouraged to join an approved plumbers/contractors scheme, such as those managed by SNIPEF, APHC, CIPHE, WIAPS, and the regional water utility companies. This enables them to issue a certificate of completion to both the householder and water company.

Please note that other industry related qualifications may be required to join these schemes.

Candidates should have at least two years demonstrable experience within the plumbing industry, or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in plumbing.

Topics covered include:

  • Water regulations; interpretation and definitions
  • Materials and substances
  • Requirements, design and installation
  • Backflow and contamination prevention
  • Hot and cold water services
  • Flushing devices
  • Sanitary appliances, both internal and external
