Behind the scenes at Tinopolis

Creative Media students at Tinopolis

Second year Creative Media Production students recently had the chance to go behind the scenes at Tinopolis as they filmed the popular Welsh daytime programme, Prynhawn Da featuring lifestyle content including cookery, fashion and health and beauty.

As part of the visit, the students gained a first-hand insight into a live television production being filmed. They were able to see behind the scenes and get a sense of all the elements that go into making live TV, giving them a real feel for what a future career in the media industry could be like.

An international TV production and distribution group, Tinopolis is one of the largest independent television suppliers in the UK with studios in Llanelli, Cardiff, Glasgow and London as well as studios in the US and a portfolio spanning 13 content production companies.

Course lecturer, Denys Bassett-Jones commented: “I am very grateful to the team at Tinopolis Llanelli to allow us to visit them during the filming of a live broadcast. They were very welcoming and informative and the students got a lot out of the day.”

He continued: “Visits of this kind are an integral part of the Creative Media Production course and we are certainly hopeful that this is the start of a continuing professional relationship between Tinopolis and Pembrokeshire College.”
