Students Help Santa Get Ready to Take Flight

Santa in sleigh.

Thanks to the help of Pembrokeshire College students, Santa’s sleigh will soon be ready to take to the skies again (or at least the streets of Haverfordwest) following an extensive renovation project.

College engineering and construction learners have spent the last couple of months renovating Santa’s sleigh ready for ‘Santa Run Haverfordwest 2020’ in association with Haverfordwest Town Council, County Councillor Alison Tudor, Pure West Radio and Millforge Garage.

This year will see Santa and his sleigh parading the streets of Haverfordwest between the 14th and 17th December from 5pm every day. Whilst COVID regulations restrict meeting Santa face-to-face you can join in the festivities from your doorstep and wave to Santa as he goes by!

Mayor of Haverfordwest Alan Buckfield commented: ‘We are delighted to work with our partners on this event to bring festive joy to Haverfordwest this Christmas with special thanks to the students of Pembrokeshire College for their contribution.’

The renovated sleigh has benefitted from a full restoration along with a new paint job and boasts a new roof, brighter lights, a louder sound system, to belt out festive music, and comfy seating for Santa and his elf!

To find out which date Santa will be coming to your street in Haverfordwest visit: www.purewestradio.com and click on ‘Santa Run 2020’. You can also use this website to track Santa each night so you can find out when he is on his way to you.

This year’s Santa Run is raising funds for the Mayors chosen charities: ‘The Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru’ and ‘The Maisie Moo Foundation’. Details of how you can donate can be found on the Pure West Radio website: www.purewestradio.com
