Dragon LNG help learners be better connected

The College’s Employment Bureau hosted their sixth Employer Lunch Event on Wednesday 4 May 2022. The event, sponsored by Dragon LNG, gave 21 learners from a range of engineering courses the chance to meet with employers over a lunch within the College’s student-run ‘SEED Restaurant’. A big thank you to all who participated.

Company representatives from Le Breton Engineering Limited, BTG Speciality Pharmaceuticals, Ledwood Mechanical Engineering Limited and Mainstay Marine Solutions attended. Each had the opportunity to talk about what it’s like to work in their industry and to discuss the engineering related career options/job vacancies for learners to consider following the completion of their course.

Feedback from the day included:
“I think it was a great idea and well executed. It gave me a great insight into lots of companies and gave me a wide range of opportunities to consider.”
“I found today really interesting. It was very interactive as I was able to speak to employers in person.”
“As a company we enjoyed the engagement with Pembrokeshire College and it’s learners.”
“A great session, great to see the next generation coming through.”

Karen Wood, Stakeholder and Communications Manager at Dragon LNG added: “Thank you, again, to the Employment Bureau team at Pembrokeshire College for a great event. The employer/student lunches really have proved they are a great concept in providing student and employer connections, with everyone coming away having learnt something. It is fantastic that we are able to support these vibrant occasions again, and we look forward to more opportunities during the academic year”.

Danielle Bond, Employability Manager at Pembrokeshire College commented, “Pembrokeshire College was delighted to host its sixth Dragon LNG sponsored employer/student lunch. It was fantastic to be able to have a face to face event for the first-time post Covid. The lunch provided a great opportunity for students to talk to a range of employers about working in the fields of engineering, Events such as this only work with the support of the employers so we are extremely grateful to Le Breton Engineering Limited, BTG Speciality Pharmaceuticals, Ledwood Mechanical Engineering Limited and Mainstay Marine Solutions for their time and support”.
