This qualification is designed to give learners the skills to work in the travel and tourism sector. Alongside completing the qualification requirements, learners may develop the knowledge, understanding and essential skills employers look for in employees. These range from familiar ‘key skills’ such as team working, independent learning and problem-solving, interpersonal skills, communicating with professional colleagues/peers, personal manners and understanding work practices and how different roles and departments function within an organisation.
Learners can achieve an Introductory Diploma in the first year and progress on to the Extended Diploma in the second year.
The course will:
- focus on the study of the travel and tourism sectors in a number of occupational areas
- offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge, skills and understanding
- provide opportunities to acquire a number of practical work-related skills.
